What key three benefits has WaterNSW gained from Microsoft Dynamics 365?
When in 2015 State Water, Sydney Catchment Authority and the Department of Primary Industries came together to become one organisation, they brought their own IT infrastructure and processes which were becoming obsolete and difficult to maintain.
It was clear that WaterNSW - the newly-formed organisation - needed to retire the old systems and divert to a single, consolidated solution to improve productivity and simplify processes.
WaterNSW partnered with DXC Eclipse to deploy a Microsoft platform based on a ‘three clouds strategy’, consisting of Azure, Dynamics 365 and Office 365. Within weeks of going live, WaterNSW experienced a transformative change and enjoyed three immediate benefits:
1.Improved customer experience
Customers can now access the online portal to easily and securely monitor the status of their account. On the other end, employees are able to maintain a record of all customer transactions in a single view, improving the customer service speed.
2.Faster view into data
Field workers can collect on-site information and essential data about the dams with a mobile solution. Data are then analysed with Microsoft Power BI in order to preview risks and prevent errors to protect one of Australian’s most precious natural resources.
The implementation of a modern cloud-based ERP solution, allowed better connectivity across the systems and collaboration between departments, meaning that employees can focus on data, governance and productivity rather than manual processes and infrastructure maintenance.
Thanks to Microsoft Dynamics 365, WaterNSW has now a strong foundation for growth. Their next step will be to use analytics to predict future areas of opportunity.
