Meridian Energy is New Zealand’s largest electricity generator and retailer, producing approximately one-third of the country’s electricity — all from renewable sources.
Meridian embarked on a full-scale transformation, selecting Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP as its new platform and DXC Technology as its implementation partner. The project scope also included Oracle EPM for budgeting, forecasting, and reporting to key stakeholders, and seamless integration with existing systems.

The new ERP system will not only help Meridian better support its 400,000 business and residential customers, but also enhance project visibility for 200 managers and standardise supplier onboarding and procurement procedures. Additionally, executive and board-level financial reports and briefing books are now generated within five days, significantly faster than before.
Meridan’s new solution is generating new efficiencies, including:
- Improved financial reporting and executive insights
- Streamlined month-end processes for greater efficiency
- Robust procurement with a “No PO, No Pay” policy standardising supplier onboarding
- Faster generation of executive and board-level reports, now delivered within five days
- Enhanced project visibility for more than 200 project managers
