The Oracle Cloud World Tour in Sydney marked a significant moment, bringing Oracle’s latest advancements directly to the Australian market. As a Gold sponsor, DXC Technology was excited to be at the forefront of this event, engaging with customers and partners to explore the transformative power of Oracle’s evolving ecosystem.

A dominant theme throughout the event was the pervasive integration of AI across Oracle’s entire suite of offerings – from infrastructure to databases and SaaS applications. Oracle’s message was clear: AI’s potential is unlocked by high-quality, securely governed organisational data. They emphasised their ability to deliver AI capabilities across diverse environments, whether on-premises or in the cloud while ensuring data security.

Oracle’s focus on enabling customers to leverage their own data for AI training was particularly noteworthy. They highlighted the importance of contextualising AI with proprietary business data, addressing the high failure rate often seen with generic AI implementations.

Oracle’s Multi-Cloud Approach

Oracle’s shift towards a more open, multi-cloud strategy was a significant announcement. The availability of Oracle Database at AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud represents an important step forward, acknowledging the reality of hybrid cloud environments. This flexibility empowers organisations to leverage Oracle’s robust database capabilities within their existing infrastructure, providing greater choice and better opportunities for cost optimisation, resilience, and redundancy.

How OCI is helping save lives in the Australian outback

We were particularly proud to showcase how Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS) is using Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) to deliver easier access to emergency healthcare services and better continuity of care during our Learning Session.

During our session, we discussed how OCI services, such as Autonomous Database, and Oracle GoldenGate, provide a digital twin solution enabling emergency personnel to access off-line live database replication to retrieve patient information. Incident data can now be synchronised automatically in the field, back at base, across operation centres, and with other healthcare providers.

In the future, RFDS is exploring how to leverage AI to further improve healthcare services for people in the Australian outback.

DXC’s Cloud Strategy Assessment

At DXC, we understand that navigating the complexities of cloud adoption and AI integration can be daunting. This is why we offer comprehensive Cloud Strategy Assessments, which bring together key stakeholders to assess business and IT priorities pain points, strategic roadmaps, costs and delivery models. Our assessments are formal frameworks that help organisations evaluate, discover and define their infrastructure roadmap. In today’s economic climate, we can help customers reduce infrastructure costs by migrating to OCI, freeing up valuable resources for AI innovation.

The Oracle Cloud World Tour in Sydney reinforced the importance of strategic AI implementation, data governance, and flexible cloud solutions. DXC Technology is committed to partnering with our customers to unlock the full potential of these technologies, driving innovation and delivering real-world results.
